Join us – the RECON network is expanding!
Community Team Interest Forms are now available. All teams interested in receiving telescope and/or camera equipment must complete this form.
all communities except those between Lake Havasu and Yuma, we ask that interested teams complete this form by Monday, November 10, 2014.
Over the past two years, we have demonstrated the potential for a full RECON network through the dedicated efforts of our pilot network communities in California and Nevada: Tulelake, Cedarville, Burney/Fall River, Susanville, Greenville, Quincy, Portola, Reno, Carson City, Gardnerville, Bishop, Yerington, Hawthorne, and Tonopah.
We are now looking to expand the RECON network to extend north and south. The project will provide telescope equipment and training to high school teachers and amateur astronomers from at least 40 communities stretching from the US-Mexico border to the US-Canada border. In addition, there will be opportunity for amateur astronomers across the country to join in TNO occultation campaigns starting by Spring 2015.
If you are a community team interested in participating in RECON, please complete the Community Team Interest Form. All teams interested in receiving telescope and/or camera equipment must complete this form.
If you are an individual interested in learning more about the RECON Project and ways you can participate, please complete our RECON Individual Interest Survey.
Alternatively, if you know of any community members in or around our target communities, feel free to help us get in touch by completing the RECON Referral Survey.
