Kelowna is a city of ~130,000 on the east shore of Okanagan Lake, in the Okanagan valley in the interior of British Columbia.

The Kelowna site is based at Immaculata Regional High School, with physics and math teacher Michal Witkowski. Michal is joined by CanCON Project Lead Terry Bridges and Okanagan RASC member Jim Failes. Jim is an amateur astronomer with nearly 5 decades experience observing cosmic wonders, earth-orbiting spacecraft and atmospheric phenomena. He’s seen everything from solar eclipses to supernovas, northern lights to near-earth asteroids, but still finds a simple starry night thrilling. Jim resides, semi-retired, in Kelowna.
