Community teams should prepare for for each campaign with the following step:
- Sign up for the event using Pre-Event Confirmation Form
- Charge the battery pack and the laptop
- Check for and install any system and software updates on the laptop
- Check Camera Settings
- Check the Telrad batteries
- Print star charts and event information sheets from Observation Campaign Page
- Check that the event will be visible from your observing location (i.e., not behind a mountain, trees, or other obstruction)
- Print out Observation Log Sheet
- Communicate with all the potential participants
- Enter star-hop list as user objects in the telescope memory (optional)
- Practice finding star field in advance of the night of the event
